GIDE 2023 conceptual group project

The CITYZEN Project envisions transforming
the urban space near the Faculty of Design
into a green oasis that distinguishes itself
from the grayness and concrete of the
surrounding city.

The name CITYZEN combines the words
“city” and “zen” while also sounding like
“citizen,” conveying our vision of bringing
tranquility and greenery into the cityscape.
We aim to infuse the space with a serene
ambiance that would provide students with
an accessible space for socializing nearby.

Some key terms characterizing our project’s
goals include eco-friendliness, green parklets,
ecourbanism, nature integration, and urban
revitalization.

Our plan to reconfigure the area would
incorporate the use of sustainable materials
to create a green space with the integration
of organic forms. We would be transforming
the currently unpleasant environment with
unsightly litter into an attractive space for
bike parking, relaxation, and social
interaction.
